USDA Rural Development Assistant to the Secretary Anne Hazlett Visits Colorado
The staff was pleased to have Assistant to the Secretary for Rural Development Anne Hazlett visit Denver this month. Hazlett attended a National Rural Lenders Roundtable on Rural Community Infrastructure. She also participated in an opioid roundtable discussion at the Colorado Attorney General’s Office. The opioid epidemic and the destruction it is having on rural communities across our country, is almost a daily occurrence in the headlines. No corner of our country has gone untouched and the impact of the opioid crisis on small towns and rural places have been particularly significant.
Rural Business & Cooperative Services Administrator, Bette Brand was also in Denver this month. Brand visited several Rural Development projects to include: the Town of Lyons, Summit Entertainment in Windsor, and Park Farms in Kersey.
