It’s Almost Time for the CWC 2018 Annual Convention

CWC 2018 Annual Convention

The CWC Annual Convention is only one week away! Join us at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center January 24-26 for the premier water industry event in the state.

This year, you have the opportunity to pose questions to some of Colorado water’s most influential leaders during three of the convention sessions.

Please send your questions to Chane@cowatercongress.org no later than Friday, January 19.  We will select the top two questions for each session.

Session 1: Annual State Legislative Breakfast
Want to know more about what’s coming this Legislative Session? This is your chance to ask Rep. Arndt, Sen. Sonnenberg, Rep. Becker, and Sen. Garcia your questions. What are the top issues?

The Annual State Legislative Breakfast will be on Thursday, January 24 at 7am.

Session 2: Thursday Luncheon with Governor Hickenlooper
As Gov. Hickenlooper’s term comes to an end, this is a great opportunity to voice your questions about the Colorado Water Plan, infrastructure funding, and what the future of Colorado water holds.

The Thursday Luncheon will be on Thursday, January 25 at 12pm.

Session 3: Closing remarks with the Deputy Commissioner of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation
Alan Mikkelsen will deliver the keynote address at our Friday Aspinall Award Luncheon. Secretary of Interior Zinke is reorganizing the Bureau and Alan will have a significant role in shaping Bureau activities.

This session will be on Friday, January 26 at 11:30am, right before the presentation of the 2018 Aspinall Water Leader of the Year award.

Federal Affairs Breakfast

We have just confirmed that Lane Dickson will speak at the Federal Affairs Breakfast on Friday, January 26 at the CWC Annual Convention.

Mr. Dickson was appointed as a Professional Staff to the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources in May, 2017. His primary focus is on water, grazing, and mining issues. In this role, he looks at the window of opportunity for water-related legislation and predicts if it is open or closed to addressing our challenges, including drought, infrastructure financing, and regulatory reform.
