Announcing the 2017 South Platte Forum Keynote Speakers!

Dr. Jeremy Solin

Along with many other engaging speakers and topics, we are excited to welcome Dr. Jeremy Solin as the opening keynote speaker on Wednesday, October 25th at the South Platte Forum.

Dr. Jeremy Solin has worked in the environmental and sustainability education fields for the past 20 years. He has extensive experience in education and outreach program development and management. Currently, Jeremy is the Wisconsin Coordinator and National Program Manager of ThinkWater, a national campaign based at the University of Wisconsin-Extension and supported by the US Department of Agriculture to help people of all backgrounds and ages think and care deeply about water. His primary role focuses on helping organizations integrate systems thinking into their program delivery and operations. Jeremy lives with his family in Stevens Point, WI. He has a bachelor’s degree in water resources (University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point), a master’s degree in environmental education (University of Minnesota, Duluth) and a doctorate degree in sustainability education (Prescott College).

Joey Bunch

Mark your calendars for Joey Bunch, who will be our afternoon keynote speaker on Wednesday, October 25th.

Joey Bunch is the senior correspondent for Colorado Politics, a statewide news website and weekly magazine that reports for the state’s most politically engaged policy makers and readers. He is a 30-year veteran who has covered Colorado for 15 years, including 14 years at the Denver Post. He is a Pulitzer winner, a two-time finalist and a five-time nominee. Bunch hails from the Deep South and makes gumbo and barbecue better than anybody you know.

Tom Bie

You won’t want to miss Tom Bie, our keynote speaker for Thursday, October 26th.

Tom Bie has worked as a writer and editor for nearly 25 years, much of it as a freelancer living in towns like Park City, Jackson Hole, and Steamboat—places offering questionable career choices but wise lifestyle choices. He is the author of Steamboat, Ski Town USA, and also served as a senior editor at Skiing magazine, in Boulder, and as editor-in-chief of Powder, in Dana Point, California. From 1992 to 1999 Bie worked as a rafting and flyfishing guide in Jackson Hole, and from 1994 to 1997 he also worked at the Jackson Hole Guide newspaper, where he served as sports editor and columnist. In 1998, Bie launched his own flyfishing magazine, The Drake, which is now based in Denver and has somehow supported him since 2007. Bie grew up in Oregon’s Willamette Valley (famous Pinots), and is a 1991 journalism graduate of Oregon State University.
