CCAC president helps Beef Battalion feed 2,500 more troops and family members
Colorado Corn Administrative Committee (CCAC) President Mike Lefever this month teamed up once again with the All-American Beef Battalion — a volunteer organization that travels the U.S. serving steaks to our men and women in uniform, and their families.
The group was most recently at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora, where they fed about 2,500 people — some of whom were leaving that day for Texas to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.
The event included an airshow, put on as part of Family Day at the base, while the large steak-feed also drew attention from local media, including 9News and Fox31 — both of which interviewed Mike and others at the event.
CCAC has long been a supporter of the Beef Battalion, as these contributions not only help in saying “thanks” to our troops, but also help promote what is the largest buyer of corn — the livestock industry. The CCAC has contributed $125,000 to the Beef Battalion, while Colorado Corn staff and board members have also helped serve more than 55,000 steak dinners here in the state.
