FSA County Committee Nomination Period is Open
Weld County is looking for producers to serve on the local county committee. County Committee elections are held annually in every county. Each year, FSA will accept nominations for a Local Administrative Area (LAA). This year the nominations will come from LAA number 2 which covers the center area of Weld County from Gilcrest to Pierce. A map of the boundaries is available at the Greeley Service Center located at 4302 W 9th Street Road. If you farm in LAA-2 and wish to serve on the committee, please consider nominating yourself or another producer to serve on the FSA County Committee.
County Committees are unique to FSA and serve as a direct link between agricultural communities across the country and USDA. Committee members are a critical component of the day-to-day operations of FSA. Committees help deliver FSA farm programs at the local level and are comprised of three members who serve three year terms. Producers who serve on committees help decide the kinds of programs their counties will offer and work to make FSA agricultural programs serve the needs of local producers.
Nominations can be obtained from your local FSA office and must be completed prior to the August 1st deadline.
