CWCB Welcomes Newest Board Members

On Friday, June 2nd, Gov. John Hickenlooper announced Boards and Commissions appointments to the Colorado Water Conservation Board: Heather Dutton, Jack Goble, and Celene Hawkins.

Heather Renae Dutton, with the San Luis Valley Water Conservancy District, will serve as a representative from the Rio Grande drainage basin and as a Republican.

Jack Goble with the Lower Arkansas Valley Water Conservancy District, will serve as a representative from the Arkansas drainage basin and as an Unaffiliated.

“The focus will be to fund the implementation of good projects and close the different water gaps.”
Jack had the opportunity to work on the successful Catlin Canal Company Rotational Land Fallowing-Municipal Leasing Pilot Project (approved by CWB and HB13-1248). He hopes to use his experience with this project and with the Lower Arkansas Valley Water Conservancy District to promote new projects and find different transfer mechanisms.
Jack is excited to be a part of the CWCB and get to know its board and staff.

Celene Hawkins, a resident of the San Miguel-Dolores-San Juan drainage basin with The Nature Conservancy, will serve on the board of the Colorado Water Conservation Board as a Democrat.

“It is an honor to be appointed to the San Miguel-Dolores-San Juan drainage basin seat on the Colorado Water Conservation Board. I look forward to the opportunity to represent diverse water users and stakeholders in each of the tributaries of this basin. I am particularly excited to help shape and support work implementing Colorado’s Water Plan and interstate and federal work in the Colorado River Basin.”
