ocia-facebook-logoLINCOLN, NE: Be sure to attend the 2017 OCIA Annual General Membership Meeting, February 8th at the Holiday Inn Council Bluffs at Ameristar. There is a great line up of workshop presenters that you won’t want to miss, along with a mini trade show!

Join author and organic farmer, Atina Diffley in considering your opportunities to educate and lead citizens for biodiversity. Learn more about Mary Wiedenhoeft and David Weisberger’s micro grant results from their project on organic small grains at Iowa State University. Meet Stevan Knezevic from the University of Nebraska Lincoln as he discusses flaming and the impact of Dicamba Drift on organic soybeans. Connect with Elliott Driscoll and Jack Geiger, OCIA certified organic farmers, who will discuss organic farming methods and techniques that have worked well on their farms. And discover what Maya ter Kuile-Miller, newest OCIA chapter administrator, has planned for her San Luis Valley chapter in Alamosa, Colorado.

The Holiday Inn Council Bluffs at Ameristar is located on the banks of the Missouri River in Council Bluffs, Iowa and is connected to the Ameristar Casino through an indoor breezeway. Just minutes from downtown Omaha, their complimentary shuttle will take you to numerous local attractions including the Henry Doorly Zoo, the Old Market, and the Omaha Eppley International Airport.

This day of workshops will be filled with information for farmers thinking about transitioning to organic, as well as for the experienced organic farmers.
