WELD COUNTY FAIR WINS BIG AT REGIONAL CONVENTION
Greeley, CO – November 17, 2016 – The Rocky Mountain Association of Fairs, an organization of fairs from nine western states and two Canadian provinces, held its annual convention November 9th – 12th in Spokane, Washington. The Summit Awards Program is a contest for fairs to enter their posters, brochures, fair books, pictures, and other promotional items to be judged and given awards. The entries are put on display for all attendees to enjoy during the convention.
This year there were 425 fairs represented at the convention. The Summit Awards Program included two divisions; Division A for fairs with attendance under 100,000, and Division B for fairs with attendance over 100,000. Weld County Fair entered in four Division A categories, with an annual attendance estimated at 40,000-45,000. All four entries placed in the top three including; “Promotional Poster” (1st place), Fair Photo (1st place), Fair Book (3rd place), and a Fair Photo – animal or person (3rd place). Photos were taken by exhibitors and fairgoers who submitted them for use in promoting the fair.
