2nd Annual CLA Arkansas Valley Livestock Symposium is Next Week!

The Colorado Livestock Association is hosting its annual livestock producer educational symposium in La Junta, CO on October 13, 2016. The Arkansas Valley Livestock Symposium will feature a full day of informative speakers covering a multitude of important topics concerning livestock producers in Colorado.
A discussion about management tools for reducing the use of antibiotics led by Dr. Larry Hollis, a beef cattle health management consultant will kick off of the morning followed by several speakers, including; the CSU Beef Extension Specialist, Dr. Ryan Rhoades, will present on ways to develop profitable and environmentally sound beef production systems. Duane Lenz, a Market Analyst with CattleFax the beef industry leader on market information and research will provide a market outlook. In the afternoon, Bill Hammerich, CEO of CLA, will provide a synopsis of the ballot questions Colorado voters will decide on November 8th. A thought-provoking discussion on drones and private property rights will round out the afternoon!

Colorado Livestock Association (CLA) was formed in 1998 through a restructuring of the then 43-year-old Colorado Cattle Feeders Association (CCFA). CLA members are cattle and sheep feeders, cow/calf producers, dairy farmers, swine operations, and industry partners.
