As climates change, forests are impacted by severe drought, longer fire seasons, and impressive insect epidemics. New approaches to landscape restoration are needed to cope with what may be new disturbance regimes. The 2016 Restoring the West Conference will gather experts in climate science, landscape restoration, and forest ecology to suggest restoration techniques for this uncertain future, and to give examples where these techniques are working. Ideas will be presented in two days of plenary sessions, a poster session, and an evening social.

This conference is organized and sponsored by Utah State University including Extension, Wildland Resources Department, Quinney College of Natural
Resources, and Ecology Center. Support also comes from USDA Forest Service – State and Private Forestry, and the Western Aspen Alliance. #RTW2016

The Restoring the West Conference will bring together people from a wide range of disciplines including climatologists, forest ecologists, restoration practitioners, researchers, agency employees, private and public land managers, climate scientists, students, and climate science educators. This poster session provides an excellent opportunity for participants to share the results of their research (ongoing or completed), cooperative efforts between agencies and/or landowners, or information about land management programs. Posters submitted may cover any area of climate disturbance ecology, forest management, or other disciplines related to climate, disturbance or restoration. We encourage submissions that detail current, on the ground, practical restoration applications that are informing forest restoration practices. Posters submitted must include original work of the authors.
