Colorado Corn staff and board members encourage farmers and any others interested to attend our district meetings, where attendees will hear updates about the Colorado Corn Administrative Committee (CCAC) and the Colorado Corn Growers Association (CCGA), as well as issues impacting the industry. No RSVP needed.

Wednesday, Aug. 24 — Districts 1-2 Meeting (Fort Collins)

Dinner and meeting begin at 7 p.m.
Meal will be provided.
CoBank Center for Ag Education (4492 E. County Road 56)
Open Positions:
* CCAC Director (currently held by Chris Wagner, who is term-limited)
* CCAC Alternate (currently held by John Sullivan, who is eligible for a second term)District Area: Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Douglas, El Paso, Elbert, Jefferson, Larimer, Lincoln and Weld counties

During these meetings, Colorado Corn staff will be joined by representatives of the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), to discuss producer surveys and the NASS data used in factoring payments to farmers for certain programs, such as the Agriculture Risk Coverage-County Option (ARC-CO) Program.

In recent months, some farmers questioned the accuracy of the county yield data initially used to calculate farmers’ ARC-CO eligibility, stressing some yields appeared too high, which would impact program payments.

After various efforts by the Colorado Corn Growers Association and other groups, the Farm Service Agency (FSA) distributed updated ARC-CO payments to farmers in Adams, Baca, Bent, Cheyenne and Kit Carson counties. However, farmers elsewhere haven’t been notified of such action, and are following through with an appeals process.
