Congrats to the winners of the Colorado Corn-sponsored FFA proficiency awards, and all other recent winners
Colorado Corn would like to congratulate Brandon Schenk with the Akron FFA Chapter for earning the Grain Production Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award during the Colorado State FFA Convention last week, and also Marco Ramos with the Arickaree FFA Chapter for earning the Dairy Production Placement Proficiency Award.
Both awards were sponsored by the Colorado Corn Administrative Committee.
These two Washington County, Colo., youth were joined by several others from around the state who won proficiency awards at last week’s State FFA Convention. A full list of the winners is available at our website.
The Colorado Corn Administrative Committee and Colorado Corn Growers Association team up with FFA on many efforts beyond sponsorship of these proficiency awards. For example, the Colorado Corn Administrative Committee began its FFA Grant Program in 2013, and since then has awarded a total of $21,484 to five FFA chapters across the state to assist them with projects.
Colorado Corn, based in Greeley, is made up of the Colorado Corn Growers Association and Colorado Corn Administrative Committee. The Colorado Corn Growers Association (CCGA) is comprised of dues-paying members who are politically active, focusing on policy that impacts corn producers and agriculture in general. The Colorado Corn Administrative Committee (CCAC) oversees how Colorado’s corn check-off dollars (one penny per bushel of corn produced in the state) are spent on research, market development, outreach, education and other various endeavors.
