Colorado Corn staff member, CALP classmates highlight state’s diverse ag industry at Colfax Marathon Relays
Earlier this month, Colorado Corn Communications Director Eric Brown joined his Colorado Agricultural Leadership Program (CALP) classmates in representing the state’s ag industry at the Colfax Marathon Relays.
Jogging alongside thousands of fellow runners in the race and in front of thousands of spectators in downtown Denver, Eric and the nine other “CALP-letes” (making up two relay teams, with five runners apiece) each represented a different commodity in Colorado, bringing attention to the diversity and abundance of the state’s ag industry.
Colorado Corn sponsored Eric to run in the race (and showcase that he was “Running on Colorado Corn”). Other sponsors of fellow “CALP-letes” included the Colorado Pork Producers Council, Hirakata Farms, Colorado Egg Producers, Colorado Wheat/Plains Gold, Dyna-Gro Seed, Loveland Products Inc., Colorado Livestock Association, Rocky Mountain Farmers Union, and Frontiere Natural Meats.
In addition to supporting these runners in the race and drawing attention to Colorado agriculture, these sponsorships raised funds for CALP, which is now in its 12th class.
The Colorado Corn Growers Association and Colorado Corn Administrative Committee work on behalf of more than 4,000 corn producers through market development, communications, research and technical assistance.
