CCALT and The Trust for Public Land (TPL) are excited to announce the completion of the Hutchinson Ranch Conservation Initiative. The Hutchinson Ranch is the oldest family-owned ranch in the Upper Arkansas River Valley and one of the last remaining ranches along US Highway 50 between the growing towns of Salida and Poncha Springs.
The ranch was originally homesteaded in the 1860s by Joseph Hutchinson and has been passed down from generation to generation. It is currently operated by Abby Hutchinson who represents the sixth generation of the family to work the ranch.
Help CCALT and the Hutchinson family celebrate the protection of their ranch. The Hutchinson’s will be hosting the CCALT annual Sunset BBQ this year on August 23, 2014 so be sure to save the date! The ranch is located near Salida, Colorado and we hope you can come and join the celebration!
