Sioux Falls, SD (June 4, 2013) – Ron Lamberty, Senior Vice President for the American Coalition for Ethanol (ACE) today released the following statement on the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) appeal to the Supreme Court over E15 blends.
“API is basically presenting evidence to prove they will do whatever they can to keep from having to compete with any other fuels. Big Oil will take any approach available to delay E15 implementation while continuing its public smear campaign against it. API’s press statement – ostensibly about their court petition – is instead a replay of anti-ethanol misinformation campaign “greatest hits” which have nothing to do with the legal issues contained in their appeal.
E15 is the most tested fuel in our nation’s history and EPA did its due diligence before approving it. The DC Circuit Court was right to throw out Big Oil’s legal challenge, and the Supreme Court should reject this appeal as well,” said Lamberty.
The American Coalition for Ethanol (ACE) is the grassroots voice of the U.S. ethanol industry, a national advocacy association for the ethanol industry with nearly 1,500 members nationwide, including farmers, ethanol producers, commodity organizations, businesses supplying goods and services to the ethanol industry, rural electric cooperatives, and individuals supportive of increased production and use of ethanol.
