03-12-13 Learn More about the 2013 America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education Campaign…
Posted by Brian Allmer on March 12, 2013
For the second year in a row, farmers are gearing up to impact their communities. By nominating their favorite public school district to compete for a grant of up to $25,000, farmers coast to coast will have a hand in shaping the future of today’s youth – this, thanks to Monsanto Fund’s America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education℠.
The Monsanto Fund is set to invest $2.3 million to strengthen math and science education in rural communities through America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education℠. Now until April 15, 2013, farmers in 1,271 counties across 39 states can nominate their local public school district to compete for a merit-based grant. Administrators of nominated school districts can then submit grant applications through April 30, 2013. Grant funds are then used to enhance the district’s math and/or science programs.
Grants are reviewed by the America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education Advisory Council and are awarded based on merit, need and community support. Multiple nominations of a single school district demonstrate community support and strengthen the grant application.
