07-27-12 US House of Representatives News* House looking to introduce 1-Year Extension of the FAARM Bill…
Posted by Brian Allmer on July 27, 2012
The House of Representatives has just released language to provide a one-year extension of the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008, with certain modifications and exceptions, to make supplemental agricultural disaster assistance available for fiscal years 2012 and 2013.
It looks like a one year farm bill package to extend all titles and programs to the end of 2013, with the major change providing drought assistance to livestock and elimination of direct payments to cover the emergency assistance. It is unclear if this is seeking an actual extension or providing a vehicle for a Senate-House farm bill conference .
