BE SEEN ON THE BIG SCREEN!
This year, we want to see your faces on the big screen at the National FFA Convention this October! There are two ways for you to participate:
1. Regional Photos and Videos: Capture photos or videos of FFA members in locations that are iconic in their regions.
2. Then and Now Photos: Re-stage photos of yourself from a time when you were much younger.
All pictures and photos must be submitted by July 25, 2012. Scroll down for submission guidelines.
REGIONAL PHOTOS AND VIDEOS
Your images should feel fun, spontaneous and cool! They should show members interacting with or around easily recognizable “landmarks” across the United States. These images should allow the viewer to quickly place where the photo was taken, even if only viewed for a few seconds.
We’re using the term “landmark” loosely here. For example, pictures or video of a small group of members having fun by the Liberty Bell is great, but images of members in front of the Rocky statue, or an iconic Philadelphia Cheese steak shop would be equally good! As long as viewers see something that immediately says “Philadelphia” in the shot.
Think of places and locations that come to mind when you think of YOUR region. Have fun! Be creative!
Maybe there is a way to use depth of field to make it appear that a member or members are “interacting” with the landmark? Think “cool and unusual” camera angles. Take shots of single members, shots of groups of members, maybe a series of quickly -shot stills that “tell a story”. Anything that you think shows off your members having fun and quickly identifies your region!
FFA Gear
It would be great if any members photographed or recorded were wearing recognizable FFA apparel. This could be a t-shirt, a hat, an official FFA jacket, etc. The more diversity we have in attire in the images, the better. You don’t have to have everyone wear FFA gear, but it would be best if most of the people in the image were wearing some FFA attire.
Quality not Quantity
We are looking for quality images; not necessarily a large quantity of images. We would much rather receive 10 terrific images from an FFA chapter than 100 average ones. So be creative, and be selective! Choose only your best, and send them to us.
THEN AND NOW PHOTOS
Find an old photograph of yourself from when you were much younger. “Restage” that photograph as your current self. Try to pose in the same way, try to smile the same way, and try even to return to the same place where the original photograph was taken. Check out the website Young Me/ Now Me for examples.
