Fort Morgan, CO…….Progressive 15 is recognizing three legislators for their work in support of the economies of the Northeast Colorado region. Those three legislators are: Representative Mark Ferrandino; Representative Jon Becker; and, Senator Mary Hodge.
Representative Mark Ferrandino worked with many groups to revise his legislation on the Enterprise Zone and support the work of a task force to study the true impacts of the Enterprise Zone on each part of the state. The enterprise zone is a valuable tool for smaller, more rural communities and without his support the enterprise zone might have gone away. The result was HB12-1241 Review of Enterprise Zone Designation.
Representative Jon Becker worked on two pieces of legislation that were of great benefit to our region. One was HB12-1315 on the revamping of the Colorado Energy Office and the other was HB12-1105 Wind Energy Property Rights and making wind non severable from the land.
Senator Mary Hodge took the lead on making the spaceport at the Front Range Airport a viable piece of the state’s economy through SB12-035 Spaceflight Entity Limited Liability. This bill puts the state on the cutting edge of this exciting new economy.
